Character Discription

Cole was walking into a room that he had never been into before in his life. This room is my bedroom and he doesn't know what to do and thinks that being in my room is kind of weird. Cole acts likes something is going to happen to him if he moves an inch because when ever he is walking around my room, I always walk right next to him. Cole smelt like he hadn't took a shower in decades. He did not look like he was one of those people that didn't take a shower until he was told to.

When Cole told me about his story when he smashed his friends head into the ground and was forced to either go to jail or go into a circle group. He told me he chose to do the circle group and he was forced to go to an island all by himself and he had to stay there for 1 hole year. It sounded like he was having a hard time at life. Cole also told me when he came off the island, he had become a better man.

I love to set things on fire and to pull pranks on people. I like to sometimes to just show up at places and scare Percy Jackson so much, that he falls on his butt. I like to scare his little friends to, Grover and Annabeth but for some weird reason she always looks at me like she thinks she can kill me. Sometimes I feel intimidated by her attitude that she gives me when she is talking to me. I really hate it when people just randomly show up at my house and ask for something I have no idea what they are talking about. It really gets on my nerves. What would you do if you where Hades in the book The lightning Thief? Would you change the world to the way you want it or would you just keep doing what you do best, make people scared of you?

Lightning Thief Essay

Have you ever been in a situation being at a life or death? Rather it being in a game or sometimes in real life. Percy Jackson in the book The Lightning Thief by “Rick Riordan,” is a 12 year old kid going to a school called Yancy academy and has a best friend named Grover. Grover is like a brother to him because they basically to every together. They go to the same school, when it comes to going to vacation, Grover has to come with him, and I think you get it that Grover goes a lot of places with Percy. Percy Jackson has a lot of problems but yet still has a lot of friends.  

Percy has some problems with his family to sometimes like his dad doesn’t live with him because Percy doesn’t know that his dad is a God. His mom told him that his dad died. His dad is one of the Gods that have powers like water, fire, earth, air and all the other ones but his dad has the water power. The book’s point of view is coming from Percy because he is the main character along with Grover and Percy’s mom, but mostly Percy is the main character. The point of view coming from Percy Jackson is a big part of the book because if the point of view was switched to Grover or Percy’s mom, the book would not make much sense because the reader reading the book at the time would not understand why Percy went to the underground. The main conflict of this book is Zeus’s master bolt was stolen and they are trying to find it before it gets in the wrong hands and something really bad happens.

If Rick Riordan had not made the point of view coming from Percy Jackson, the book would totally be difficult to understand what is going on. If the point of view was coming from Percy’s mom or even better, coming from Percy’s stepdad that would make the book have no sense to it what so ever. The reader reading the book at the time, would not understand why Percy to go to the underworld. If the point of view was coming from Percy’s mom, the read would probably here things like why he was going to the underworld but not know what was going on. For all she knows, Percy could have died going to the underworld and she would not have known that he died and that is an important fact that the read should know.

Throughout the book, Percy Jackson gets into a lot of trouble with people and monsters but yet stills believe in him to succeed. Knowing that the point of view is coming from Percy Jackson also the main character, he is just about telling everything that is going on to let to reader know more and more facts on what is happening. More facts for the reader means that the reader wants to keep reading and eventually wants to read the rest of the series. Then when the reader is done reading all of the books, that reader would recommend the book to friends and then lots of people would like the book. Anyways, the thing is that I would not had change the point of view it is coming from now because this person that the point of view is coming from is the main character and also tells lots on what is going on.

When Grover goes to the beach where Percy and his mother are. Grover shows up at there door and says that they have to leave now. They are driving in the car to a camp that Percy's mother does not want him to go to but now he has to. They are in the car on there way to the camp. Percy asks his mom why is she driving so fast, also where are they going. His mom tells him that they are going to the camp that she did not want him to go to because she thinks that it would not be good for him. There is a giant beast coming after there car because this beast wants Percy. The beast hits the car and they fall into a ditch with lots of mud. There car is flipped sideways and they do not know how to get out of the car. Percy's mom tells Percy to get out of the car and go over that hill and go don't stop until you get to the barn. She also tells him to yell for help and don't stop running until he reaches the barn door.

Predicting what is going to happen

There is a kid named Grover and I book that I am reading which is called Percy Jackson and the lightning thief. He is Percy Jackson’s best friend and they both go to a school called Yancy Academy. Even though Percy Jackson has been kicked out of 6 schools, Grover is still friends with him. Grover his supposedly supposed to be protecting Percy Jackson from all the evil stuff that comes from the underworld. Even though Percy Jackson knows nothing about the underworld and that he has a lot of skills with fighting and defending for himself that he does not yet know of. I think that Grover might die at the end of the book because of some of the fights he got into at school that Percy Jackson had to come up and defend for Grover.

Book Presentation

There is this character in my book named Grover. He has a best friend named Percy Jackson. Percy is a special person to him in a way, like he is supposed to guard him from evil stuff like strange people and stuff from the underworld . One moment in the book, they are on a bus and the bus had to pull over to the side of the road and the bus driver had to check the engine because he thought that there was something wrong with it. There was a fruit stand with some old ladies running it. Percy went over and wanted to looked around and one of the ladies pulled out a big pair of scissors Grover told Percy that it was time to get back on the bus because he thought that those ladies where not nice. After arguing over whether or not that Percy has to get on the bus Grover just finally told him that it was not a safe place for him. Then they went back onto the bus ad waited for the bus driver to fix the engine. Grover is a person that gets good grades and acts nice and kind around other people. Grover has a good impact on others because he is not one of those types of people goes and picks on other kids. He is a nice guy to everyone.

Point of view for Guns For General Washington

I would think if the book called Guns for General Washington was told by another character in the book, that the book would be more interesting. The person that is reading the book could understand whether or not a person is thinking something different from the other person. Whether or not that the main character is telling the truth about something everybody else in the book is thinking that this person is not telling the truth about whether he killed this person’s son.

            If the story Guns for General Washington was told by another person in the book or maybe even told by lots of different people, that this book would be the first book that I have every read that would have this type of story. My question for the author of this book is; why did he choose William and some of his family to be telling of the story?

Guns for General Washington

Have you ever had that moment were you are starting a new school and you have nobody to talk to? Then you have to sit next to someone that you don’t know. Then one day you are best friends with that person? There are these 2 characters in different books that one is named William, and the other is Ponyboy. These two character had so much in common that they could have been best friends.

 In this book called Guns for General Washington, the main characters' names are William but everyone calls him Will for short and General Washington. Will is George’s son and George is a General for the war. Will’s dad is in a different state during the beginning of the book because he doesn’t want his son to get hurt or die, Will is living with his mom for most of the book.The book is based on the revolutionary war and how General Washington is trying to get some cannons over to where he is and on the way there is trouble, like they meet some other soldiers and they want to fight them.

I am comparing Will to another character in this other book I had read in the past called The Outsiders. This book was based on a gang called the Greasers and another gang called the Socs. These 2 gangs did not like each other that well because the Socs said that the Greasers dressed funny and so for fun, they beat them up. Every time that the Socs tried to beat the Greasers up, they did not win every time because some of the Greasers were tough and knew how to defend themselves.

Even though that William and Ponyboy are from 2 different books, they also have some similarities to their lives. Some of those similarities can be they could have the same colored hair, or they could have the same age or something like that but I am not trying to get into the simple things that people can think about. I was getting into their lives and how they act around others.

Ponyboy is one of those types of people that can be a really cool friend and can hang around anybody that he likes to. The sad thing about Ponyboy is that he doesn’t have any parents. Now, William has parents but his dad does not live with him because he is off in another state and he is having some soldiers come to him with some cannons and some other weapons. On the way for the soldiers to get to General Washington, they have some trouble so it takes them a little while longer for them to get to General Washington.

Ponyboy and William are both main characters of both of their books, they both take place in the olden times meaning back when there where greasers for the book the outsiders. For the book Guns for General Washington this book is taken place back in the Revolutionary war days. Another similarity Will and Ponyboy have is that they both mostly tell the story from their point of view. If I would have to change up the book a little bit, I would probably have to make sure that the point of view is coming from a bunch of different people so that you are not reading the book and you want to know how this person died.

There can be some good things by having similarities and there can be some bad things by having differences. A good thing for having similarities could know what the person likes to do and what they like, also you could like the same things that the other person likes and you two guys/girls can really get along. Some bad things about having differences you could not like what the other person likes or they don’t like what you like. The other person could be allergic to something that you really like or the other way around. You might not like the same music they like; there are all types of things in the world that people have differences in.
