Mary Poppins

As the boy and the girl stared out the window they spotted her. The best nanny on the face of the earth, she was like an angel set from above but, instead of wings she had her black umbrella. They didn’t know her name yet but all they knew is that it that she was the star of something better. Their dad on the other hand is confused from where she came from, all that matters is that she’s their and she’s the best nanny yet, her name was Mary Poppins. One of the best old age family movies's watched by millions and shared throughout the world. Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers is a great movie and book but, let’s examine it more in depth.

Let’s start out with our main character, Mary Poppins. She’s wonderful, she has rosy checks, she plays games, she’s fun, and most of all she can do nothing wrong throughout the whole book/movie. Even when people try to push her off her game and make her do wrong, she can’t. She deals with the issue and keeps moving forward. Now aside from just Mary Poppins there is more that goes on during the book/movie. For example when Mr. Banks (the dad) takes his son and daughter on a trip to the bank, once they get to the bank, Mr. Banks along with his co-workers want his son to open up a savings account and deposit his money.

His son doesn’t want to make an account. So the oldest man of the group try’s to take it by force to deposit the money but, he won’t give up his money. The boy yells “He’s not giving me my money back” so then as the group is going at it like wild tigers. All the others want their money back because they think the bank isn’t giving them their money back. While the old man and the son are fighting thee old man keeps on falling over so the workers chase him trying to catch him, which makes the whole scene extremely laughable.

Even though knowing that is important so is, knowing what the book/movie its self is all about. The dad is barely ever around because of his job, when he is around though he expects things to be perfect to what he wishes. Though what Mr. Banks likes is different from everyone else’s, Mr. Banks is strict, mean, and very un-understanding which for his children make it very difficult to please him when they try. This is a conflict in the story because; it affects the children in a negative way which is never good. Not only is their father mean, but now they need a new nanny because the last one gave up on them for being too hard on the nanny.

So now Mary Poppins is coming into the story; the daughter and the son now believe everything’s okay but, then later when Mar Poppins leave’s which makes the daughter and the son so sad that they almost fill up a bucket with their tears. Along with that as Mary Poppins was leaving Mr. Banks went back to his work because, his boss called him back and they fired him which was a very sad for Mr. Banks . When Mr. Banks got fired though he finally realized he’s been a poor dad, so he runs home all happy and makes his kids happy. He does this by fixing a kite they lost and then lifting them and spinning them around. Even though Mary Poppins left the dad he made them happy by trying to be a better dad.
