The lottery

Having a chance to staying a live with the luck of the draw is good. The story "The Lottery" is a well written story that has lots of themes in it but the most important theme that I think is Karma. When Tessie had to stay afterwords to finish washing the dishes, she ended up coming in late the the picking to ticket. They in which case gave herself karma. Tessie ended up dieing at the end by people throwing rocks at her until she died. When she found out the her husband was the one that won, she was not happy at all. I don't understand why that the person with the ticket with the dot in the middle is the person that dies at the end. I think that they should be the person who wins all the money or what ever the price is. Whether having freedom or just anything that does not involve being killed.They should not even have the lottery if somebody is going to die every time. They should have the lottery like we have it today, with the winner winning lots of money. Not the winner being killed. Winning the lottery should be a fun thing not a lottery that you tell your friends "Yah, my mom died at the lottery because she won." It should not end like this.
