The pearl

Have you guys ever read the book named “The pearl?” If you haven’t, then I’ll tell some of the book to you right now. Okay, so I’ll start with the author, his name is “John Steinbeck.” The story is only 6 chapters long but sense it only has 6 chapters then that sometimes means that it may have lots of pages to each chapter. The book is 90 pages long. There are two characters in the book and their names are Kino and Juana. They are the main characters of this book. They are on an adventure which to find a pearl that could be worth lots of money in their life or future, it is called “The pearl of the world.”

They have a baby which they named Coyotito. So later in the book the baby gets bit by a scorpion in the arm because Kino (the dad) did not see the scorpion and did not catch it in the amount of time before the scorpion stuck the baby. In this book the “pearl of the world” is rather different from most other pearls. It does things that no other pearl does in the world, it has like a curse or something like when Kino had found the pearl he has had some bad luck or something because one night when Kino and his family went to bed Kino had heard something that sounded like footsteps.

Then Kino stood up and walked to the door and took out his knife and tried to attack it. It happened to be the doctor’s person he had hired to go and destroy Kino because the doctor wants that pearl that Kino had found in the ocean. Which ocean, I don’t know. But where ever he had found that pearl it must be pretty big, because that’s probably why they call it “The pearl of the world.”The baby ends up having to die because the doctor does not want to come and treat the baby because of the doctor is racist and his doesn’t treat that are a different color than him.

But ever sense that Kino and his family has now found that pearl, he cannot get off of them like he really wants that pearl from Kino, he would trade his own family members for “The pearl of the world.” Once Kino had found out that the pearl has an evil curse or something to it, he has shows some fishermen where he had found the pearl. Well then in the end the baby ends up having to die because a guy ends up shooting him in the head.
